Sharing the Good News

Christmas Greetings! We invite you to share with us in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to celebrate the reason for the season. Besides Sunday School, Sunday Worship Service, we invite you to attend Wednesday evening (6:30 pm) Sermon Discussions, a Men's Breakfast and Bible Study (Dec 8th 7:30 am), our Women and Girls' Christmas Gathering (Dec 8th 3-5 pm) and our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service (Dec 24th 7 pm). Chirldren's Church is each Sunday during the Worship Service, and Wednesday Night Kids' Quest (6:30 pm) will welcome your your 3- 11 year old.

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is a wonderful time to bring your guests and relatives to hear the real message of Christmas

The Dodgers win the World Series!!! (Fake news)
The Red Sox win the World Series!!!

As I started composing this November newsletter article the 2018 Major League Baseball World Series was just beginning. While the speculators speculated, no one really knew what the outcome would be until the games were actually played. Of course, as a life-long Dodger fan it was my sincere desire that the Boys in Blue would bring us home a championship. No doubt the Boston fans were hoping the outcome would go the Red Sox way. The point is, all anyone really knew for sure was that one of these two teams would be crowned 2018 World Series Champion.

In the great “contest” of human history, there will likewise be an outcome. God knows the details of the future years leading up to the outcome, we don’t. But He has given us information on certain of the more important aspects of the outcome. The main one being that Jesus wins (Eph. 1:20-23). In fact, the Scriptures take it a step further: Jesus has already won! The only thing we don’t know is who will accompany Him in His victory procession. He invites all (that is every human being), but only those who believe in Him and accept His invitation will join Him in the victory celebration.

To His first disciples He promised that He would go and prepare a place for them and then come back and get them. At the present time, we are still awaiting His promised return. According to Jesus, no one knows the day or the hour of His return, we only know that it will come suddenly and could be at any moment. The emphasis of the Bible, therefore, is on readiness. Readiness by making sure we have been saved, and the readiness of doing the things God has gifted and called saved people to do.

Yes, human history is moving toward its inevitable outcome. Will you be part of Jesus’ victory procession? You can be. John 1:12 says that, “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” Receive Jesus today if you haven’t already and secure the outcome of your eternal future!
